OTET Admit Card : Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is an entrance test held by the state government of Odisha to hire the teachers in the various governments, private aided or unaided schools, which is primarily conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. The candidates who wish to apply for the vacancy need to register for the exam on BSE Odisha site.The exam consists of two papers which are divided based on classes, i.e. paper 1 is conducted for the teachers who will be recruited for Class 1-5 and paper 2 will be for the recruitment of teachers for Class 6-8. The total time duration provided for each paper is to be 2.30 hours. Candidates who clear the entrance test will be provided with eligibility certificate which will allow them to apply for the post. However, the certificate will not guarantee employment of any candidate and is only the eligibility criteria for one.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

The eligibility criteria for both the papers are different and the candidates who want to appear for paper 1 should have passed 12th with minimum 50% of marks (5% relaxation for the reserved category). Moreover, applicants must have D.EI.Ed or B.EI.Ed with at least 50%. Now, according to new rules B.Ed graduates are also eligible to apply.For those who would appear for paper 2 have to be qualified in B.Sc, B.Com, B.A, B.E/B.Tech graduate with at least 50%. Along with this, the candidate should also have a B.Ed degree with a minimum of 50%.

SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The cutoff for general category and SC/ST/OBC are different, according to which the applicants who belong to the general category have to score minimum 60% and other categories have to score minimum 50%. The Eligibility certificate which is provided after one clears the entrance exam is valid for a period of up to 5 years from the date of announcement of results. Any candidate who scored 60% or above will be declared qualified for the certificate.The candidates are needed to fill the application form at first for which they need to submit certain documents which include scanned copy of passport-sized photograph and signature. The signature must be in black ink and the photograph should be in plain background. The number of questions in each of the exam is 150 and one mark is awarded for every right answer. There are four alternatives in total from which the applicants need to tick one of the right options. These questions assess the candidate’s ability to analyze, interpret and apply the subject matter.The answers for the exam are uploaded in the official site for the students to estimate their score and it is available for two to three days. Any candidate who has any objections regarding the answers can raise concerns through their official website in a prescribed format.

The OTET Admit Card is only issued online and is mandatory to get into the exam hall. To download the BSE Odisha admit card, a candidate needs to go to bseodisha.nic.in and click on the link for OTET 2019 and then login where one needs to fill in his registration number, date of birth and password given at the time of registration. ITEMS TO BE CARRIED TO EXAM CENTRES

OTET is an online computer-based multiple-choice question-based paper in which there is no negative marking. The most important thing which a candidate needs to carry is the admit card or hall ticket along with valid ID proof. Exam hall entrance will not be provided to candidates without admit card. A valid proof can include any of the documents such as PAN card or Aadhaar card or passport, voter ID and driving license. Apart from these documents, candidates are also required to carry a passport size photograph.

IMPORTANT POINTS RELATED TO OTET ADMIT CARD:

Some important points that candidates need to keep in mind are mentioned below:
  • The admit card is published by BSE and it is only issued to candidates who have completed the registration process.
  • The candidate should check all the credentials printed on the admit cards such as name, registration number, roll, date of birth, gender, date, reporting time and exam shift, duration of the exam, etc.
  • Any discrepancy found in the admit card should be communicated with the concerned authority before the exam.
  • The mode of admit card is online and not offline so the students have to download it or print it.
  • It is the most important document for giving the exam so students need to carry it to the exam hall because without it candidates won’t be allowed to give the exam.
  • All the instructions are given properly in the admit card so the candidate is advised to read the instructions properly and follow accordingly.
  • Students are also told to keep the admit card even after the exam is completed because they might need it for future references.
