The Employees' State Insurance started the Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana for the employees that are covered under the Employees State Insurance Act. The process of application of Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana has already started. The name of this scheme was on the name of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to those employees who are unable to do the job due to any reason. Under this scheme, all the employees who are working in the company in the unorganized sector, whose PF / ESI is cut by the organization every month, will be offered 25% of the 90 days' salary as cash reimbursement. This financial assistance will be provided to the employees when they will leave the job. The employees can get help under this scheme only once in their entire service period. The employees must complete the 2-year position in the company to get the benefits of this scheme.

The Main Objective

The main aim of the programme is to provide financial help to those employees who are already insured under ESI as well as has lost his job or is unemployed. The government of India will give the amount of assistance under this scheme.

Primary Beneficiaries

As per the rules and regulations of the State Insurance Corporation, the insured person who has no job or is unemployed will be provided insurance for up to 2 years.

Distribution of Funds

The benefit of this scheme will be directly transferred into the bank account of the beneficiary. If a person is seeking a new job, then he will also provide this money.

Amount for Worker

Under this scheme, workers can get 47% of the suitable cash amount deposited in SI. This money will be provided to the applicant only when he or she will give proof of unemployment for 3 months. Any unemployed person can get benefits from this scheme.

  • Under this scheme, the applicant will be provided 25% of the daily salary for the last four months of earnings.
  • When a person leaves the job, he or she will be offered financial assistance for the next 90 days.
  • The insurance of this plan can be paid once in an entire life.
  • The person who is unemployed from the last three months can get benefits under this scheme.
  • If the person is working in any unauthorized or Private Sector Company and has left the job for some reason will able to get compensation under this scheme.
  • To get the benefits under this scheme, the employee is must be insured under the State Insurance Corporation.
  • The cash amount of financial assistance will be directly sent to the bank account by the company as reimbursement for 90 days of unemployment to the employee.
  • To get the financial aid of this scheme, the person is mandatory to complete a job for a minimum period of 2 years.
  • The applicants will take the benefit of this scheme from 1/7/2018.
  • To get the benefit of super-speciality treatment service under this scheme by the Employees State Insurance Corporation, then the duration of 2 years job has reduced to 6 months.
  • The amount that is paid by the ESI Corporation for funerals after the death of the beneficiary employee is increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000.

Conditions for Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana 

There are some conditions under this scheme through which the person is not eligible to get the benefits of this scheme. All the terms are explained below:

  • An employee insured under Employees State Insurance, but if he or she is expelled from a job due to any criminal conduct, then he will not able to get the benefit of the scheme.
  • You are not able to get financial assistance under this scheme if you are dismissed from a job through any misbehaviour of criminal cases.
  • If the company in which you are working has taken voluntary retirement, then also you are not able to get the benefits of this scheme.
  • The insured is mandatory to contribute to the PF / ESI Fund for a minimum of 78 days to get the benefits of this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicants have to attach the non-judicial affidavit on the non-judicial paper of Rs 20 with the application form.
  • The applicants must have to fill the four forms under this scheme. All the 4 forms are AB-1, AB-2, AB-3, and AB-4.
