Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Scheme

This scheme went live on 20th July 2020 by the chief minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel.

This scheme aims to buy cow dung from rural people at the rate of Rs.2 per kilogram so that the natives can earn their livelihood expenses.

By doing so, stray cattle on urban streets would get solved, and the organization can put cow dung into some productive outcome.

This scheme deals with open grazing and gets out the economic benefit from the purchased cow dung.

The objective of the Godhan Nyay Yojana Scheme

The main aim of the Godhan Nyay Scheme is to develop rural areas by improving their economy, and for that, the officials are focusing on finding ways to double up the income of farmers.

The scheme is buying cow dung from the cattle ranchers so that their livelihood becomes more accessible and they stop abandoning their battles after grazing.

However, the cow dung fertilizers would improve soil health and encourage organic farming rather than those farming techniques that involve chemicals and pesticides.

The scheme also looks up to the waterbeds and maintains their ground level, and promotes a backyard kitchen garden, which decomposes the waste without polluting the environment.

Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana Scheme's working

The scheme is known as Kisan Nyay yojana, and the scheme of Chhattisgarh godhan Nyay yojana, both of them have the same set of guidelines to improve the rural economy. Hence, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh Decided to undertake the yojana on the uniform guidelines.

For the mission of a clean city, the officials analyze the cattle and their owner. The cattle are assigned a designation label of their owner's name, address, and telephone number. If the cattle get on the road and get spotted, then the person who found the cattle can immediately contact the owner.

The price of buying the cow dung also includes the transportation cost.

The specialized workers get hired to manage the job by the district officials, or often the training is provided to the person who's been not specialized to carry out the given position of turning cow dung into vermicompost and to handle the responsibilities.

The government possesses a commitment to the construction of cowsheds in different areas.

It has been passed in the Parliament on 9th March 2021 that the Godhan Nyay Yojana would stand set open for the whole country to help the farmers with their revenue income.

The new set of updates acknowledges that the cow dung acquired from 1st January 2021 till 15th January 2021 would get a twelfth division worth Rs 3.2crore.

The government is also planning to purchase gomutra along with cow dung to strengthen the rural economy.

The rural economy improvement due to Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana Scheme

By buying the cow dung from the farmers, it creates an additional penny for the farmers.

Meanwhile, the scheme also generates employment opportunities in the respective area.

The purchased cow dung gets processed into vermicompost.

The vermicompost is in massive demand in the organic market as it is helpful for organic farming.

Departments such as agriculture, plantation cultivation center, and horticulture require organic fertilizers, so a cooperative society sells the vermicompost as a commodity loan.

How would the urban areas get benefitted from the Godhan Nyay Yojana scheme?

The scheme will deal with the stray cattle, which would result in less chaotic roads.

The organization would dump the cattle wastes in a proper hygienic way which would result in cleaner cities.

Functional challenges faced by the organization to carry out Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana

The scheme's success was not a cakewalk for the officials. They faced various obstacles during the way; the first barrier was that the amount of cow dung's purchase was not enough in a logical way for the farmers as the cattle's maintenance cost was much higher than the proportion of earnings.

Farmers became less interested in the idea of keeping more cattle with them.

Another barrier was that the organic fertilizers were more expensive than chemical pesticides, so 90℅ buyers wanted to continue with the chemical pesticides rather than switching up to organic fertilizers.

Also, the chemical fertilizers tended to give up the results in a lesser time than those of organic fertilizers. They also differ in production's quantity, but now the market is slowly switching to organic farming and relying upon them as their quality stands to be trusted.

Moderations or solutions to the challenges faced by the organization of Godhan Nyay Yojana

The scheme's purpose was for a good cause, and it did improve the situation.

Many of the state's chairs realized the scheme's potential and looked up to it for implementing it in the other states as well but with specific alterations as per the current circumstance.

The officials came up with the moderation idea for the scheme. The government should provide monetary assistance to the cattle rancher for carrying out the livestock's maintenance cost and cow dung purchase as per previous guidelines.

And to solve the problem of organic farming, the officials finalized that the government should provide more support to organic farmers by setting up an ecosystem and lending more financial support. In this way, the stray cattle problem would also get resolved as the farmers would keep them grazing.
