Overview
Jai Bhim Chief Minister Pratibha Vikas Yojana was launched by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal for the development of young talents in the state. Under this scheme, the children of backward classes will receive good and free reading facilities. This will help in providing a better life and good education system for the children belonging to SC and ST category.
Objectives
The private institutions charge a lot of money for providing coaching and due to that students from poor families are unable to prepare for examinations such as engineering, medical coaching, etc. To make education available for them, the Delhi government has made coaching free for the talented students belonging to the SC and ST children. The main objective of the scheme is to help students advance in education and help in getting suitable jobs for them.
Key Features
- This scheme is only for the candidates of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
- Students of Delhi can avail the Chief Minister Jai Bhima Pratibha Vikas Yojana 2020 only twice.
- Under this scheme, the annual income of the family of the applicant should not be more than 6 lakhs. Those with annual income not exceeding 6 benefits cannot avail this scheme.
- The government will give all the expenses for coaching students of SC, ST students whose annual income is less than 2 lakh.
- Those who are registering for the first time in Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana 2020 , the annual income of the families of those students is between 2 lakh to 6 lakh, then the government will bear 75% of the coaching expenses of those students, the remaining expenses will have to be paid by the students only.
- Delhi government will incur only 50% of the expenditure on applying for a second time.
- After the application, students have to go to the coaching center every day. If the student is absent for more than 15 days without any solid reason, and then he cannot become eligible for this scheme.
Benefits
Delhi government will provide scholarship for all competitive exams. In this, students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Disabled and Minorities will be included in the scholarship. The Delhi government will not only provide scholarships, but will also give all the money for free coaching to all the students covered under this scheme. Apart from coaching and scholarship, the government will also distribute INR 2500 per month separately to the students. Coaching facility will also be provided to students of engineering and medical students for entrance examinations. Graduate and post graduate students will also be eligible to receive free education for competitive exams.
Eligibility for Students
- More than 5000 students will be benefited under Jai Bhim Chief Minister Pratibha Vikas Yojana.
- All the candidates will join the coaching center to complete the process and will be successful in it; they will be able to be a part of this Jai Bhima Chief Minister Pratibha Vikas Yojana.
- The government will provide full support to the students whose family income is less than two lakhs so that they can avail free coaching.
- If the income of the family is between 2 lakh to 6 lakh then the government will provide such students 75% amount of support for education in coaching.
- Students who have passed their high school and higher secondary education with good marks will get the benefit of this scheme.
- The students should have 100% attendance in the coaching centers. If they are absent more than 15 days in each month, then they will be removed from this scheme.
- Finally it is necessary to be selected in the coaching process. The amount will be received by the students who pass the center process well.
Implementing Agencies
The scheme will be implemented by reputed and good private coaching institutions of the state.
Eligibility for the Institutions
- The private institution must be registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 or the Companies Act 2013.
- The institute should have minimum of three years of experience in inviting applications from other empanelment through the departments.
- The institute should be more than three years old and at least have enrolment of a hundred students.
- The private institution should have correct infrastructure as required for the scheme.
Fees Structure
The total benefits provided to each beneficiary in this scheme before was INR 40,000, now it has been increased to INR 1.5 lakh. The students will get assistance up to INR 1.5 lakh for both the preliminary and main examinations of the civil services. There is a provision to provide them INR 50,000 in competitive examinations related to the bank and up to INR 25,000 for SSC exams. Also, this assistance was being given to them for a minimum of 4 months of coaching, which has now been increased to 12 months.
