Telangana's Honorable Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, has introduced state-level Kalyanaa Lakshmi schemes to support Telangana women. It is an effort on behalf of the Telangana State Government to empower Telangana women through a scheme. Kalyana Lakshmi is one of the state's poor women's assistance programmes. The costs of wedding ceremonies can be prohibitively expensive for the families of poor brides. As a result, the state of Telangana developed the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme to provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged families.

Key features of the scheme

  • On October 2, 2014, the scheme was introduced for SC/ST, Minorities (BC-A, BC-B, BC-C), and Economically Weaker Sections of the State.
  • The total sum was 51,000 rupees at the time of the launch.
  • Following that, the sum was increased in 2017 to a total of 75,116 rupees per beneficiary.
  • The sum was raised again in March 2018, to a total of 1,00116 Rupees per beneficiary.
  • Up until March 2018, the Scheme had benefited 3,60000 people.
  • The following eligibility criteria or pre-requisites apply to both the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak schemes.
  • The Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme is now limited to one beneficiary per household, and each family will receive only one round of financial assistance.
