Stock market on diwali

  • Starting on Thursday, the BSE Sensex will be closed for four days in a row. The holidays of Diwali Laxmi Pujan and Diwali Balipratipada will be observed on November 4 and 5. The 6th and 7th of November will be weekly holidays. Due to Gurunanak Jayanti and weeklong holidays, the stock market will be closed for three days in a row on November 19, 20, and 21.
  • Share Market Muhurat Trading, on the other hand, will take place on November 4 for a set length of time.

What is Muhurat Trading, and how does it work?

On Diwali, muhurat trading is an hour of auspicious stock market trading (Deepawali). It is a symbolic and ancient ritual that has been preserved and observed by the commercial community for centuries. Because Diwali also marks the start of the New Year, muhurat trading on this day is thought to bring money and prosperity for the rest of the year.

Muhurat trading timings

This Diwali, the NSE's Muhurat trading session will begin at 6:15 p.m. and end at 7:15 p.m. Following the Hindu Panchang, the unique trading window opens, signalling the start of a new Samvat or Samvat 2078 — the Hindu calendar year that begins on Diwali — and it is thought that Muhurat trade brings prosperity and fortune throughout the year.
