Medhavi Chhatra Yojana {मेधावी छात्र योजना}

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan launched the "Medhavi Chhatra Scheme" for the state's students. If you have secured more than 75% in the 12th class examination and are an inhabitant of Madhya Pradesh, you don't have to worry about higher education. Under this scheme, the poor students will be assisted with higher education in any private and Government educational institution. The fees needed for higher education will be given by the Government.  

Aim of Medhavi Chhatra Yojana

The poor children mostly don't get the chance to go for further studies. The main reason behind that is the lack of money. And that is why the Government of Madhya Pradesh has come up with this scheme to help the students financially to 6gpursue degrees in Medical, Engineering, Law, etc. Under this scheme, the Government will help in paying the fees for further higher education. However, the state government will only pay the costs for the students who have more than 75% in 12th standard under the Madhya Pradesh State Board and for the students of CBSE/ICSE board, they must secure more than 85%.

Eligibility of the Scheme

  • The student must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The income of the foster parent or must not be more than six lakhs. But, according to the new rules, the annual income limit has been changed into seven or seven and a half lakhs.
  • If the student belongs to the CBSE board, then he/she must secure 85% in the twelfth standard examination.
  • If the student belongs to the Secondary Education Board, then he/she must secure 70% in the twelfth standard examination.
  • The Government will provide the total fees for the admission of the students in government colleges.
  • For grants or private colleges, the Government will provide INR 1.5 lakh rupees. 
  • If the students take admission in BDS or MBBS after appearing NEET, the Government is bound to pay for the fees.
  • Students who qualified for the entrance examination for a five-year course at colleges like IIM Indore or SPA Bhopal are also allowed to join this scheme.
  • Under this scheme, the Government will only help financially to those students who passed the entrance exam for further higher studies on their own.
  • The students can also apply for graduate and PG courses under this scheme in any educational organization accepted by India's Government.
  • Under this scheme, the student can also apply for the polytechnic or other courses after 12th standard.
  • The student must acquire under 1.5 lakh rank in the JEE exams.

Medical

The students who have passed the National Eligibility and Entrance Test and registered for the MBBS course at any State or Central Government or Private college will be benefited under this scheme. The Government will pay the full fees of the students in government medical college and the costs to be paid to the private colleges.

Law

After passing the Common Law Admission Test or CLAT, the Law course's full fees and admission will be provided by the Government for the admission in National Law Universities.

Engineering

If any student scores under fifty thousand ranks in the JEE main exam, the student will be provided with the entire admission fees in any government or private engineering college. Plus, the state government will provide INR 1.5 lakhs for the costs for the private college.

The state government will bear all fees for the 5-year integrated post-graduation program of major Indian Government and state government institutes like Planning and Architecture School Bhopal (SPA), IIM, Indore. All the state government colleges, including B.Sc., B.A., B.Com., Nursing, Polytechnic, and all the courses of graduation level, will be borne by the state government. Madhya Pradesh government is also giving laptops to the students of the state who bring more than 75% of the number in the 12th standard. - So far, 66,791 students have been given laptops.

Yes, the benefit of this scheme is applicable for the students who have passed class 12 examination as a self-employed student.

Q. Can I avail of this scheme if I have passed the examination?

Yes. You can benefit from the scheme from JEE MAINS in the passing year if your rank is less than 1 lakh 50 thousand. It is necessary to fulfill all other eligibility conditions.

Q.   Will I be eligible for this scheme if I take admission in a private engineering college?

If your JEE MAINS rank is less than 1 lakh 50 thousand and take admission in private engineering college, then Rs. 1 lakh 50 thousand or actual fee (whichever is less) will be given under this scheme. The exact price will be given in a government college.

Q. Can I take advantage of this scheme if   I have passed the NEET exam?

Yes, you can take benefit of the scheme in the passing year only.
