Official Data of Unemployed Youths

According to official government figures, the state of Uttar Pradesh had approximately 34 lakh, unemployed people, as of February 2020. Around 40 lakh people returned to UP from various places where they had been working in the first few months of the nationwide COVID-19 shutdown. Employment Help Desk for Jobless Youths

According to the Chief Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh government, an "Employment Help Desk" should be established in every department and organisation. Every government office will have an employment help desk where information about employment, self-employment, and skills training programmes run by that department would be made available. The Job Help Desk will also provide information on various employment programmes offered by other departments, as well as potential job openings.

Creation of Database of Job Opportunities

Under UP Mission Rojgar Yojana, the state government of Uttar Pradesh is dedicated to creating and maintaining a database of job prospects for young people. The Directorate of Training and Employment is developing an app and a web portal for this purpose. The labour department will provide the funding for this project. Each department, authority, corporation, and other entity shall appoint a nodal officer to update data from their respective departments on the app and portal. Every two weeks, data on employment will be updated on the platform.

UP Mission Rojgar Yojana Campaign Job Fairs

All directorates, corporations, boards, commissions, and other entities have been instructed to select a nodal officer to track progress and coordinate among various stakeholders. The UP Mission Rojgar Yojana campaign will be overseen and coordinated by the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner, while a high-level committee led by the CS will monitor the campaign regularly.

A committee chaired by the district magistrate will be formed in each district to draft an action plan for executing the initiative at the district level. Simultaneously, the Directorate of Training and Employment will host job fairs and address all pending recruitment cases in partnership with the private industry. Workshops and awareness programs will be organised by departments to encourage self-employment. Vacant positions in all departments will be filled simultaneously through special campaigns.
