Eligibility Criteria

To get the scholarship under the Prime Minister Scholarship scheme, the candidate must have to fulfil the eligibility criteria. Details about the eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

  • To get the scholarship under this scheme, the candidate must be ward/widow of deceased CAPFs & AR/ Ex-CAPFs & AR/ retired as well as serving CAPFs & AR/ State Police Personnel.
  • The scholarship will only be provided to those candidates who want to pursue any of the courses mentioned above.
  • To get the scholarship, the candidate must pass with at least 60% of the aggregate marks in the minimum qualification that he or she has maintained.
  • For this, the Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) is 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation.
  • The candidates must have scored a minimum of 60% marks in Intermediate.
  • There is only a professional degree course that is predictable by a central regulatory body like AICTE, MCI; etc. will be considered for giving a scholarship.
  • Wards of Civilians, for example, Para-Military Personnel are not eligible under this scheme.
  • Make sure that the student applying for this scheme is studying in the first year.

Document Needed

To apply for the Prime Minister scholarship scheme, the candidates must have to submit some required documents that are listed below:

  • Educational certificates: As it is already defined the scholarship is available only for graduation and post-graduation courses, so the candidates need to submit the 12th certificate if he or she has given the exam. To get the scholarship, the candidate must have scored at least 60% of the aggregate marks in the previous class.
  • Bank Details: The applicants must have to provide their bank account number with the IFSC code of the bank because the amount of the scholarship will be directly transferred to the bank account of the students. Parents are also allowed to provide their account details only if the student is pursuing Pre Metric education.
  • Aadhaar card of the students: The applicant must have to submit their Aadhaar card. The Aadhaar Card of the candidates will be used as the identity card as well as to verify their identity.
  • Death Certificate: The death certificate of deceased personnel will make sure that his or her father was deceased in any kind of battle.
  • Disability Certificate: If the father of the applicant is disabled, then a disability certificate is mandatory to show to get a scholarship.
  • Certificate of Gallantry Award: A certificate is necessary to provide which will be issued by the state government to proclaim that his father was killed in a war.
  • A bonafide certificate that will prove the student’s Bank Account is linked with an Aadhaar Card.

How to Apply for the PM Scholarship Scheme?

To Apply for the PM Scholarship Scheme process is quite simple. The entire process is mentioned below:

1. First, you have to visit the official website of the Prime Minister Scholarship scheme.

2. After visiting the official website, you will see the “PMSS” Option in the top menu of the Official Website Homepage.

3. After clicking on this option, you will see a submenu item, "New Application" under which there will be another sub-menu item, "Apply online". Click on it.

4.  It will open a new window with the New PMSS Application Form.

5. After that, under the PM Scholarship Scheme Application Form, you will be able to see 2 Parts.

6. In the First Part of the PMSS Scholarship Scheme, you will have to fill your Details, Relative Post Details, etc.

7. In the Second Part of the PMSS Scholarship, You will have to Mention Address Details, Bank Account Details Etc.

8. After filling all the details carefully in the application form, you have to submit Your Application Form Finally. In this, you will be registered under the scheme to get the scholarship benefits.

Selection Process for the Scheme

For the Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme, the selection criteria are mentioned below:

  • The priority under this scheme will be given to the wards and widows of CAPFs and AR personnel who were killed in any kind of war.
  • The second priority under this scheme will be given to the wards of Ex-CAPFs and AR personnel who were disabled in any kind of war.
  • The third priority under this scheme will be given to the wards and widows of deceased CAPFs and AR personnel who died during their service.
  • The fourth preference under this scheme will be given to the wards of Ex-CAPFs and AR personnel who got disabled during their service with disability attributable to Government service.
  • After this, the preference will be provided to the wards of Ex-CAPFs and AR personnel who have received bravery awards for their service.
  • The next priority will be for the wards of Ex-CAPFs and AR personnel (PBOR only).
  • And in the last, the preference will be given to the wards of serving CAPFs and AR personnel (PBOR) according to the scholarship available.
  • The scholarship will also be provided to those people who are the wards of a state police officer and have lost their life.
