Overview
Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is a development programme of a rural area. Pradhan Mantri Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana launched by PM Narendra Modi on the birth anniversary of Jayaprakesh Narayan on 11th October 2014. The Yojana broadly focuses on the development of remote villages which include social growth, cultural development, and spread the motivation among the people.
Background
The first Adarsh Gram was developed by 2016, and each MP will produce two more in 2019 and from 2019 to 2024, planning for five more Adarsh Gram by the year. This implies that the total number of 6, 433 Adarad Gram of the 2, 65,000-gram panchayats will be by 2024.
Keeping the view in mind in this Yojana, each member of the parliament adopts a gram panchayat and guides its progress by giving the importance for the social development of the villages as per the infrastructure. Under this Yojana, villagers, and leveraging scientific tools, a village development plan is prepared under the leadership of a member of parliament.

Implementation
Selection of Remote Village
List of the things which are required for Selection of the village for the development following are requirements:
- A gram panchayat is a basic unit for the Selection of the town. For a plain area population required up to 3000-5000 and in hilly areas condition of the community is 1000-3000.
- The MP is eligible to identify a suitable gram panchayat to be developed as Adarsh Gram, rather than selecting his/her village or spouse.
- The MP will immediately select the one Gram panchayat to be developed and rest two communities will be taken up a little later.
- Lok Sabha MP can choose a Gram panchayat according to his/her choice from the list, and Rajya Sabha MP can choose a Gram Panchayat from the rural area of a district according to his/her choice in the state from where he/she is elected.
