The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is a flagship scheme started by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and helps to offer skill training to 10 million youth of the country during the period 2016 -2020.  The training provided under this scheme will be certified from the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) as well as industry-led standards. Short Term Training

To benefit the students of school and college as well as unemployed people the scheme has introduced the Short Term Training.  According to this, the training will be provided to the students by the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), as well as training centers that will offer much other training like Soft Skills, Entrepreneurship, Financial and Digital Literacy.

As the name already states the training provided in this is for the short term. The time duration depends as per your choice of job that varies between150 and 300 hours. After the completion of the training successfully the training centers will provide placement assistance by the training Partners. For short term training, you do not have to pay any fee as the training and assessment fee will be paid by the Government itself.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Those candidates who have prior learning skills can be specialized under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Recognition of prior learning aims to line up the competencies of the unfettered labor force of the country to the NSQF. There is a lot of projects implementing agencies (like Sector Skill Councils etc) who are encouraged to implement RPL projects. There are three project types available in the RPL project that are RPL Camps, RPL at Employers Premises, and RPL centers and the candidate has a choice to select anyone as per his feasibility. The scheme can encourage the training centers to deal with the knowledge gaps of the students.

Special Projects 

The Special Projects under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is started to create a platform to make pieces of training in special areas and premises of Government bodies, Corporate or Industry bodies easy. These pieces are not clear under the available Qualification Packs or National Occupational Standards (NOSs). The projects that need deviation from the terms and conditions of the Short Term Training under PMKVY, they come in the category of Special Projects. The stakeholder under this project can be anyone from the given.

Kaushal and Rozgar Mela

To make this scheme and initiative of government successful is important and essential. To make the high standards of the schemes the TCs, NSDC, and Inspection Agencies provide the work. The inspection agencies can use different kinds of methodologies that are self-audit reporting, call validations, surprise visits, as well as monitoring through the Skills Development Management System (SDMS).

Eligibility Criteria for PMKVY

There is no bound for any state to get the benefit of this scheme that student from each and every state is able to get the benefit of the scheme. As per the scheme’s guidelines, any unemployed youth or, school or college dropouts can get the benefit from this scheme. There is a simple process to apply for PMKVY.

  • The candidate should have an Aadhaar card as well as a bank account.
