Samagra Shiksha Scheme {समग्र शिक्षा योजना}

The Samagra Shiksha Scheme is an initiative by the Government of India for the education sector. This scheme is for schools reaching from preschool to class twelve. The program was launched to improve effectiveness in schools by providing equal opportunities in learning and schooling. 

The Samagra Shiksha Scheme consists of these three schemes:

  • Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
  • Teacher Education 
  • Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan.

The main focus is on making schooling a smooth shift from pre-school to primary, primary to upper-primary, upper-primary to secondary, and secondary to senior secondary level. The fundamental importance is given to quality education at all levels by using the two main factors: Teachers and Technology.

  • Promotion of digital initiatives such as Shagun, Shaala Saarthi, Shala Kosh, etc.
  • Intensification of ITC infrastructure in the educational sector ranging from upper primary level to higher secondary level.

  • The extended promotion of vocational skills will be extended at the upper primary level.

  • Earlier, the professional training was limited to 9-12 classes, which will start from level 6, and it will be made more industry-oriented and more practical.

  • All the schools will receive sports equipment under this scheme.
