Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana was launched by the central government. The scheme was launched with the motive to provide electricity in rural and remote areas where people do not have this facility. • This scheme was launched by the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister of the country Shree Narendra Modi
• The scheme was launched in a meeting that was held on Sep 2017 by the cabinet at the Birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay.
• This scheme was completely implemented in rural and remote areas from December 2017.
• The entire process of implementation of this scheme will be completed in the 3 in various rural areas as well as remote villages.

As per the various sources, this scheme will be completely implemented by the central government in 2018 and the overall evaluation will be easily done by the end of the year 2019. There are some issues between the state and central governments that are necessary to be resolved.

Eligibility Criteria for Saubhagya Yojana

The central government has not mentioned complete eligibility criteria to get registered as well as to take benefits under the scheme. But in the upcoming stages when the scheme will get its complete implementation then the eligibility criteria shall be announced by the central government. 

• As for now, the scheme is valid for the people who are living in rural areas as well as in remote villages and do not have any access to electricity in their houses.

• The beneficiary must be from the poor family o have the certificate of below the poverty line.

• The beneficiary must have a backward class category certificate.

Documents needed for Saubhagya Scheme

To get registered and to take benefit of this scheme the applicant must have to submit some documents at the time of registration. The documents needed to submit are mentioned below-

• The candidate has to provide proof of residential address.

• The applicant has to provide details of the ration card, voter card, Aadhar card as well as Pan Card.

• Proof of income certificate to prove the candidate is below the poverty line or from a poor family.

Subsidy provided

It is sure that the candidates who get the benefit of this scheme also will be provided with a subsidy on electricity by the central government. But as for now, no subsidy rates have been set by the central government. As the government made it very clear that the subsidy will be provided only on the purchase of the pieces of equipment that are necessary for power connection like transformers, wires as well as connection meters.
