Overview

The Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle is accepting online applications from Indian citizens for the roles of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The AP Postal Circle GDS 2021 online registration will begin on November 3rd, 2021, and will close on November 18th, 2021.

Educational Requirements:

  • The candidate must have passed the Secondary School Examination Certificate / 10th standard / SSC / Matriculation from a state board that has been approved by the state government / central government. The following is a list of approved boards by state.
  • Any qualification(s) that are higher than the requisite educational qualification will not be given any weight. Candidates who pass the tenth-grade exam on their first attempt will be considered commendable in comparison to those who pass compartmentally. Knowledge of the local language is required (the Telugu language studied up to 10th standard)

Computer Knowledge: 

The candidate must have computer knowledge and must provide a basic computer training certificate from a recognised Computer Training Institute for at least 60 days. Certificates from the federal government, state governments, universities, boards, and other organisations will also suffice. If a candidate has studied computer as a subject in Class X or Class XII or higher educational qualification, this requirement for a basic computer knowledge certificate may be waived if the candidate submits a certificate of Class X or Class XII or higher educational qualification in which he or she has studied computer as a subject.

Job Residency: 

A candidate selected for the position of Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster must live in the Branch Post Office village for at least one month after being selected but before being hired as a Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster. In the application, the candidate must make a statement to this effect. The candidate chosen for a position other than GDS BPM must live in the delivery jurisdiction of the post village.

Selection Process

Candidates were chosen based on their performance in the tenth grade. Higher educational qualifications will not be given any weight. Only marks acquired in 10th grade / Matric from state government-approved boards, aggregated to a percentage with a precision of four decimals, shall be used to determine the final selection.

Application Charge: 

OC/OBC Male applicants must pay a fee of Rs. 100/- at any Head Post Office. Any candidate who needs to make a payment must go to any Head Post Office to do so. At the PO Counter, candidates must provide their Registration Number to make a payment. All-female and SC/ST applicants, however, are excluded from paying the fee.
