Overview

DRDO has invited applications from eligible and interested candidates to fill in 1817 vacancies for the post of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) for its recruitment 2020. 

The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is one of the most reputed organizations in India. It comes under the Ministry Of Defense. Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) is a post under the General Central Service Group' C', Non-Gazetted, Ministerial post. The candidates will get a salary between Rs. 18,000, and Rs. 56,900.

Salary

The selected candidates will come under the Pay matrix Level-1, and hence, they will be paid the salary of Rs. 18,000- Rs. 56,900 according to the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. The selected candidates will also get other benefits or allowances according to the rules of The Government Of India.

Vacancies 

There are a total of 1817 vacancies.

  • 849 vacancies are there for the candidates of UR category
  • 503 vacancies are there for the candidates of OBC category
  • 188 vacancies are there for the post of EWS category
  • 163 vacancies are there for the post of SC category
  • 114 vacancies are there for the post of ST category

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

  • The candidate must have passed class 10 or equivalent from a recognized Board. Or the candidate must be ITI pass
  • The candidate must possess the qualifications for their respective posts as on the crucial date of eligibility, that is 23 January 2020
  • Candidates, who do not have their qualifications on the day of the crucial date of eligibility, will not be considered eligible. Thus, they should not apply.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age to be eligible to apply for DRDO MTS Recruitment 2020 is 18 years
  • The maximum age to be eligible to apply for DRDO MTS Recruitment 2020 is 25 years

Application Fees 

- The application fees for DRDO MTS Recruitment 2020 is Rs. 100 

- The application fee is Non-refundable

- The application fee is exempted for:

  • Women Candidates
  • Candidates of SC/ST/PWD/ESW categories

- The application fee is to be paid online. The payment can be made using a debit/credit card or net banking. 

Selection Process

The candidates are selected based on two stages

  • Tier–I (Screening)
  • Tier-II (Final Selection)

The examination held is Computer-based.

Tier 1

  • The Tier 1 examination is held in CBT Mode.
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability has a total of 35 questions and carries 35 marks. The examination is held for a time duration of 90 minutes.
  • General Awareness has a total of 30 questions and carries 30 marks. The examination is held for a time duration of 90 minutes.
  • Quantitative Aptitude & Numerical Ability has a total of 35 questions and carries 35 marks. The examination is held for a time duration of 90 minutes.

The Tier 1 examination holds a total of 100 marks.

Tier 2 (Final Selection)

  • The Tier 2 examination is held in CBT mode. 
  • General Science has a total of 40 questions and carries 40 marks. The examination is held for a time duration of 90 minutes.
  • General Math has a total of 40 questions and carries 40 marks. The examination is held for a time duration of 40 minutes.
  • General English has a total of 20 questions and carries 20 marks. The examination is held for a time duration of 90 minutes. 

The Tier 2 examination holds a total of 100 marks. 

Minimum Marks

  • For the candidates of UR/ESM/OBC categories, the minimum qualifying marks required for Tier 1 are 40% 
  • For the candidates of SC/ST categories, the minimum qualifying marks required for Tier 1 are 35% 

Screening

The selection for Tier 2 is based on the merit list of Tier 1 and also depending upon the post/category/sub-category of the candidate. Then, the selected candidates appear in Tier 2. Then, the candidates will finally get selected based on their performance in the Tier 2 examination.
