Eligibility Criteria

For applying in Indian Army the candidates have to fulfil the following conditions:

Indian Army Recruitment Registration Process 2020

Candidates must follow the following steps for registering for Indian Army Recruitment Rally:

1. First, visit the official website of Indian army recruitment https://joinindianarmy.nic.in

2. The home page will appear, candidates have to enter the captcha. 

3. Now, the official website will website where you will need to click on “officers entry apply/ login” button.

4. If you are a new user, then you should register first by clicking on the “Register” button for creating an account.

5. After registration, enter your registration number and password to log in.

6. Fill in all the relevant details such as personal details, educational details, contact details, etc., in the requisite format and then click on “Submit”.

Documents Required

Candidates who have applied for Indian Army have to carry all the necessary documents during the Recruitment Rally. These documents play an essential role in the selection process, as based on this, the candidate will be selected. The following documents which are needed to be carried are as follows:       

  • Class 10 and Class 12 Certificate.
  • Class 10 and class 12 marks sheet.
  • School character certificate.
  • Character Certificate issued by the village sarpanch/municipal corporation/police within the last 6 months.
  • Residential certificate issued by the authorized signatory.
  • Caste Certificate.
  •  Relationship Certificate (The son Of Serving Soldier / Ex-Servicemen / War Widow).
  • Sports certificate (Played in national/ international/ state/ district/ region/ university).
  • National Cadet Corps (NCC) Certificate A/B/C Certificate (if any).
  • Latest passport size photograph. 

Physical Fitness Test

The eligible candidates who applied for the Indian Army Recruitment Rally will be called for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). PFT is one of the steps in the selection procedure. In PFT, the following test will be conducted:

  • 1.6 km run.
  • Pull-ups on Bean (under grip) for strength.
  • 9 feet ditch for courage.
  • Zig-zag balance for agility.

Medical Requirements

The eligible candidates who will appear in the recruitment rally must fulfil the following medical requirements:

  • They must have a robust physique and good mental health.
  • The candidates must be able to expand their chest upto 5 cm.
  • The candidates must have excellent eyesight and hearing ability. They must be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart.
  •  They must have healthy gum and teeth with a minimum of 14 dental points.
  • The candidate should not have any deformity in bones, hydrocele or piles.

1. First, visit the official website of Joined Indian Army Recruitment https://joinindianarmy.nic.in.

2. Enter the captcha. 

3. Now, go to the JCO/OR entry section and click on ‘view all’ link.

4. Now you will see ‘apply now’ option, where you will find ‘status of application’ button. Click it.

5. Enter your registration id and password and log in.

6. The application status will appear on the screen.

CDS

Combined Defence Service (CDS) examination is conducted for recruitment in the Indian Army. This exam is conducted by Union Service Public Commission (UPSC) twice a year. Candidates who want to join Indian Army after graduation have to appear for CDS examination. Candidates who are between 20 to 24 years can apply for CDS examination. 

NDA

National Defence Academy exam is a national level examination conducted twice a year for getting into Indian Army, navy, air force. Most candidates join NDA for getting into the Indian Army. Candidates can appear for NDA examination after class 12.
