SBI clerk recruitment in 2020 is conducted by the State Bank of India (SBI) in the different branches across the country. SBI clerk exam facilitates the recruitment for the post of Junior Associates (customer support & sales) as per advertisement no. CRPD/CR/2019-20/20. A considerable number of candidates appear in the SBI clerk exam every year across the country.  

The responsibility of the SBI clerks (Junior Associates) are as follows:-

  • Clearing cheques and drafts,
  • Working on documentation and back-office work like ledger maintenance, balance tallying, and data entry,
  • Solving bank-related disputes of the customers,
  • Handling the operations on deposit counters and cash withdrawals,
  • Marketing bank’s products, services, and schemes to customers.

SBI Clerk Recruitment Eligibility 2020

Candidates should check their eligibility criteria first before applying. The eligibility requirement of the SBI clerk are as follows:-

  • Educational qualification
  • Age criteria 

Education Qualification

  • Candidates should have completed graduation from a recognised university in any bachelor course.
  • The candidate who is appearing in the final year can also apply, and they have to provide relevant qualification certificates on or before 31st August if they pass the exam.

Age Criteria

As on 1st January 2020 the candidate’s minimum age should be 20 years, and maximum should be 28 years.

Relaxation of upper age limit is also provided to various reserved category candidates. The age relaxation for SBI clerk posts are as follows:-

  • OBC:- 3 years
  • SC/ST:- 5 years
  • PWD (General/EWS):- 10 years
  • PWD (OBC):- 13 years
  • PWD (SC/ST):- 15 years
  • Ex-Servicemen/ Disabled ExServicemen:- The actual period of service rendered in defence services + 3 years, (8 years for disabled Ex-servicemen belonging to SC/ST) subject to a maximum age of 50 years.
  • Widows, Divorced women, and women judicially separated from their husbands & who are not remarried:- for the general category- 35 years, OBC- 38 years and SC/ST- 40 years.

The following are the steps that candidates need to follow to fill the online application form 2020:-

  • Step 1:- Visit the official website of SBI, i.e. https://sbi.co.in/.
  • Step 2:- Then, click “Careers.”

  • Step 3:- After that, click on “Join SBI” and then, you will find an option of “Current Openings.”

  • Step 4:- Select the “Recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales)" link.

  • Step 5:- After that, click on the “Apply Now”.
  • Step 6:- Open the “Click Here for Registration Number”.

  • Step 7:- To generate registration number and password, you will have to enter the necessary details in the given space. Fill all the information carefully and after that, click on save and next button.  

  • Step 8:- After that, upload a scanned image of photograph and signature in the prescribed format.

  • Step 9:- Now you have to fill three main details:- the necessary information, qualification, experience and language details.

  • Step 10:- After the preview, review the information carefully before the final submission of the Application.

  • Step 11:- Now, make payment of the prescribed application fee using options provided. After that, e-receipt of application fee will be generated.

  • Step 12:- Take a printout of the application form and e-receipt.

Selection Procedure of SBI Clerk Recruitment 2020

The Selection Procedure of SBI Clerk Recruitment 2020 are as follows:-

  • Phase I is Preliminary Examination:- It is an online exam of 100 marks. There will be no sectional cut off in this paper.
  • Phase II is the Main Examination:- The total marks will be 200 marks. I is also an online examination only those candidates will give mains examination who have qualified the preliminary examination.
  • Language proficiency test:- This is a compulsory and important stage in which a candidate has to clear the specified local language of the state applied in.

The total duration of the exam is 60 minutes. There is a sectional timing of 20 minutes each.
