Overview
SSC has invited applications from candidates to fill the post of Phase 8 for the year 2020.
Important Dates
- The online application process starts on 21 February 2020
- The last date to submit the application form is 20 March 2020
- The last date to make the online payment of the application fee is 23 March 2020
- The last date to generate the offline Challan is 23 March 2020
- The last date to pay the application fee through Challan is 25 March 2020
- The admit card will get released at the end of May
- The examination will be held on 6th, 9th and 10th of November 2020
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must be a citizen of India/Nepal/Bhutan. If the candidate is a citizen of Nepal/Bhutan, he/she should possess a certificate of eligibility which should be issued by The Government Of India
Educational Qualifications
10th class/Matriculation and Graduation level posts are there under the SSC phase 8 recruitment. The candidates must have the necessary qualifications according to the post they will be applying for.
Age Limit
- The minimum age to be eligible to apply for SSC phase 8 recruitment is 18 years
- The maximum age limit to be eligible to apply under SSC phase 8 recruitment is 30 years.
Upper Limit Relaxations
- A relaxation of 3 years is given to the candidates of OBC category
- A relaxation of 5 years is given to the candidates of ST/SC categories
- A relaxation of 10 years is given to the candidates of PH+Gen category
- A relaxation of 13 years is given to the candidates of PH+OBC category
- A relaxation of 15 years is given to the candidates of PH+ SC/ST categories
- A relaxation of 3 years is given to the Ex-servicemen candidates of General category
- A relaxation of 6 years is given to the Ex-servicemen candidates of OBC category
- A relaxation of 8 years is given to the Ex-servicemen candidates of SC/ST categories
Application Fee
- The application fee for the candidates of General/OBC categories is Rs. 100
- There is no application fee for the candidates of SC/ST categories or the Ex-Serviceman/Females candidates
Examination Pattern
The mode of examination will be Computer-based. The question paper will be objective type.
- General Intelligence and Reasoning will consist of 25 questions and it will hold a total of 50 marks.
- General Awareness will consist of 25 questions and it will hold a total of 50 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude will consist of 25 questions and it will hold a total of 50 marks
- English Comprehension will consist of 25 questions and it will hold a total of 50 marks
The examination will be held for a time duration of 60 minutes. However, the time duration will be 80 minutes for the disabled/Physically handicapped Candidates
½ mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- For the candidates of UR category, a minimum of 30% marks will be required to qualify the Tier-I examination
- For the candidates of OBC/EWS categories, a minimum of 25% marks will be required to qualify the Tier-I examination
- For the candidates of other categories, a minimum of 20% marks will be required to qualify the Tier-I examination
The candidates who will qualify the Tier-I examination will have to get their document verification done.
Document Verification
The candidates will have to appear for document verification or else they would not be considered for SSC phase 8 selection. The documents required for the selection are:

The admit card will be released after the application process gets over.
Result
The results for SSC Phase 8 Recruitment will be declared one month after the selection process takes place.
- The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the examination. Further, they will have to appear for the medical examination
- Once done, the selected candidates will then be called for document verification.
Important Details
- The candidate must read all the details carefully before filling in the registration and application form.
- The scanned copy of signature should have a size of 1kb-12kb and it should be in JPG format.
- The scanned copy of the candidate's photograph should have a size of 4kb-20kb and it should be in JPG format.
