The Tamil Nadu Forest Uniformed Services or TNFUSRC released a notification for the recruitment of Forest guard for the forest department of Tamil Nadu. There are a total of 227 vacant posts for Forest Guard and 93 posts vacant posts for Forest Guard with License. Recruitment and examination will be done through online modes. The Tamil Nadu Forest Uniformed Services Recruitment Committee (TNFUSRC) is a primary part of the state government of Tamil Nadu. The organisation was shaped to employ suitable candidates for numerous vacant posts for the forest department. The organization was made back in 1856. The organisation has been working for more than 160 years now. They release notifications every year for recruitment of various posts like forest guard, forest guard with driving licence, forest watcher etc.

Educational Qualification

Forest Guard

The candidates should have passed higher secondary +2 with Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry with one of the primary subjects.

Forest Guard with Driving License

  • The candidates should have passed higher secondary +2 with Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry with one of the primary subjects.
  • The applicant must have a legitimate driving license issued by the Regional Transport Officer-RTO or by any other proficient transport authority.
  • The candidate should have at least three years of driving experience from any reputed firm or company. Plus, they should have an experience certificate for driving light/heavy Motor Vehicles.
  • Must have a first-aid certificate from any recognized institution of the state Tamil Nadu. Plus, sufficient knowledge in mechanics and automobiles will be preferred.
  • If the candidate is from Defence or Navy background, then they are eligible for direct recruitment for the Forest Guard and Forest Guard with Driving Licence.
  • If the candidate was serving the Army (land force), then they are qualified for direct recruitment.
  • Applicants with any eye complications will not be preferred. 

Age Limit

  • The minimum age limit for general category applicants is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 30 years.
  • There is a relaxation of five years for the SC, ST, OBC, MBC, BCM, DW category applicants which mean they can apply until 35 years of age. 
  • Applicants who are from Ex-Serviceman category applying for the Forest Guard and Forest Guard with Driving License can use in between 21 to 30 years.

Selection Process

Concession for the Transgender Candidates

  • Any transgender candidate can apply for the vacant posts for the female and general vacancies as the third gender applicant.
  • Suppose the candidate decided to apply for the female candidate. In that case, the person should make a self-declaration along with the identity card given by the Tamil Nadu Third Gender Welfare Board. They can apply for the female as well as general posts.
  • Suppose the candidate decided to apply for the male candidate. In that case, the person should make a self-declaration along with the identity card given by the Tamil Nadu Third Gender Welfare Board. They can apply for the general posts.
  • If the person decides to apply as a male candidate, then they need to qualify the physical examination test and an endurance test for the male candidates.
  • If the person decides to apply as a female candidate, then they need to qualify the physical examination test and an endurance test for the female candidates.

Syllabus

  • General Science: This will include questions on Physics, Botany, Zoology and Chemistry.
  • Current Events: This will consist of the current affairs and all the events occurring all around the world. Plus, the topics will be based on polity, history, geography, science, economics, games and sports and, etc.
  • Geography: Major geography question belonging to the climate, water resources, earth and soil, etc.
  • History and culture of Tamil Nadu and India: Starting from Indus valley civilization to the modern age questions will be asked. Read the history and culture of the state Tamil Nadu.
  • IndianPolity: The preamble of the constitution, the constitution of India, union legislature, parliament, Lok Adalat, Panchayati raj, fundamental rights and duty, etc.
  • Indian Economy: Nature of the economy, Five years plan and economic trends in Tamil Nadu, etc.
  • Indian National Movement: Role of Tamil Nadu in the freedom struggle, National Resistance and emergence of national leaders.
  • Mental Ability Test and Aptitude: There will be mixed questions from mathematics and reasoning.

The application fee is INR 150, and the candidates will have to pay some extra charges while paying for the exam.
