How to Enquire About Your Driving Licence Status

Visit the official website of your state's transportation agency to inquire about your driving licence status. Please keep in mind that the webpage varies from one state to the next. Make certain you're on the correct webpage.

  • You'll see a link that says "Check the status of your driving licence" To get the details, click the link and enter your date of birth, DL number, and state.

  • You can also check the status of your Indian driving licence online by going to the Sarathi website of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

  • When you go to the Sarathi website, look on the left side for "Status of Licence" under "National Register(DL) Queries." When you select "Status of Licence" you will be prompted to input your date of birth, DL number, and state. Please complete the form and click "Submit"

  • The status of your driver's licence will be displayed on the next page.

Please keep in mind that the RTO typically distributes your driver's licence two weeks after you pass your DL test. So it's not a good idea to check the status of your Indian driver's licence on the internet every day. It usually takes a month for the DL to arrive at your door. If you are not at home, make sure someone with a valid ID proof collects your driver's licence on your behalf.

How to Check Your RC Status Online

A registration certificate is a legal document that is provided when a vehicle is registered. It serves as documentation that the car belongs to a specific individual. It is compulsory to register your vehicle in India. It is a serious infraction to drive on the road without a valid RC, which can result in jail, a fine, or both. Parents of minors who are caught driving without a valid Learner's License will be harshly penalised for entrusting their vehicle to a juvenile.

As a result, be sure that all of your vehicles are registered in your name. If you buy a used car, ensure sure the title is transferred to you and the RC shows your name. Checking your RC status online is pretty simple.

  • Visit parivahan.gov.in and look for the option "Online Services" under the "Know your vehicle details" page.

  • You will now be led to a new page where you may monitor the status of your RC.

  • You'll be prompted to input your vehicle's licence plate number.

  • Please enter your complete registration number and press "Submit"

  • Your RC status will now be shown.
