ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The eligibility criteria for both the papers are different and the candidates who want to appear for paper 1 should have passed 12th with minimum 50% of marks (5% relaxation for the reserved category). Moreover, applicants must have D.EI.Ed or B.EI.Ed with at least 50%. Now, according to new rules B.Ed graduates are also eligible to apply.For those who would appear for paper 2 have to be qualified in B.Sc, B.Com, B.A, B.E/B.Tech graduate with at least 50%. Along with this, the candidate should also have a B.Ed degree with a minimum of 50%.SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The cutoff for general category and SC/ST/OBC are different, according to which the applicants who belong to the general category have to score minimum 60% and other categories have to score minimum 50%. The Eligibility certificate which is provided after one clears the entrance exam is valid for a period of up to 5 years from the date of announcement of results. Any candidate who scored 60% or above will be declared qualified for the certificate.The candidates are needed to fill the application form at first for which they need to submit certain documents which include scanned copy of passport-sized photograph and signature. The signature must be in black ink and the photograph should be in plain background. The number of questions in each of the exam is 150 and one mark is awarded for every right answer. There are four alternatives in total from which the applicants need to tick one of the right options. These questions assess the candidate’s ability to analyze, interpret and apply the subject matter.The answers for the exam are uploaded in the official site for the students to estimate their score and it is available for two to three days. OTET is an online computer-based multiple-choice question-based paper in which there is no negative marking. The most important thing which a candidate needs to carry is the admit card or hall ticket along with valid ID proof. Exam hall entrance will not be provided to candidates without admit card. A valid proof can include any of the documents such as PAN card or Aadhaar card or passport, voter ID and driving license.
