Overview:

PFMS Scholarship is a web-based application. It has been designed for monitoring different schemes of Scholarship. The candidates would also be able to track down the payment status through the official portal. There is also a designated eligibility criterion. The funds of the scholarship get credited directly to the bank account of the candidate and sometimes even to the post office account. For this, the use of a direct benefit transfer system is done.

About PFMS Scholarship for Students in Colleges/ Universities

For this scheme, students who are undergraduate or opted for post-graduate courses can apply to the scholarship scheme offered by the Ministry of Education. The candidates have the scope to even renew their scholarships every year once they match the criteria. There are more than 82000 students who get selected each year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should be between 18-25 years of age.

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India

  • The applicant must be between the age of 18 to 25 years

  • Candidates should have secured the top 20% position in the Class XII examination.

  • The family income should not exceed INR 6,00,000 per annum.

  • Annual family income must be below Rs. 6 lacs

  • The applicant must have at least passed class 10th

  • Scholarship Benefits

  • An amount of INR 1,000 per annum is given to students doing 3 years of graduate

  • students doing postgraduate courses are entitled to get INR 2,000 per month.

  • The monthly reward of INR 2,000 can be given to students who choose professional studies in the fourth and fifth year.

About PFMS Scholarship for SC Category Students

This type of Scholarship is called the pre-matric scholarship for SC students that is offered by the Ministry of Education. The primary focus of this scheme is to offer better educational choices to the students who are quite deserving. This is a centrally-sponsored scholarship where students can enroll online through their respective state portals.

  • The scheme page will open in which you have to choose Scholarship to Universities/College Students

  • Bank account number with IFSC code

  • To find the IFSC code, you can choose from the drop-down menu and select the category and then search

  • Year of passing class 12th along

  • Education Board

  • Mobile number

  • Email ID.

  • Once you fill up all the details and upload all the documents, you can then click on submit button

The PFMS has a functioning interface with more than 90 Banks directly.  These 26 PSBs, 59 RRBs, and 5 Private Sector Banks are enormous. It also approves the Post Office Account that has the subtleties with the recipient’s Post Office. This scheme was started in the year 2008-2009 where the PFMS portal was initially intended for monitoring the four flagship schemes of the Government of India called SSA, MGNREGS, NRHM, and PMGSY which is in the state of Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Mizoram. It is then linked to the financial network of the state government. Later in the year 2013, the Government announced the DBT scheme that can be implemented through the portal. Due to this the scholarship payments and pension schemes were available with direct transfer to the beneficiary in less time.
