  • The KALIA scheme is an Odisha government initiative aimed at empowering the farming community.

  • The KALIA scheme aims to support 92% of Odisha's farmers, and Rs 10,180 crore has been set aside for its implementation over three years.

Is there any life insurance support for cultivators and landless agricultural labourers?

Both savings bank account holders between the ages of 18 and 50 will get a life insurance cover of Rs. 2.00 lakh for a very low premium of Rs. 330/-. Odisha's government will cover the farmers' share of the annual premium of Rs.165/-.

For all savings bank account holders aged 18 to 50 years, a personal accident cover of Rs.2.00 lakh is available for a very low annual premium of Rs.12/-.

The farmers' share is Rs.6/- of the Rs.12/- premium, which will be borne by the Odisha government.

The entire sum of Rs.12/- against the annual premium will be borne by the Govt. of Odisha in the case of the above beneficiary, whose age is between 51 and 70 years.
